very large number of homes are located "Between the highways", and the bulk of
our rental units are located here. In addition, a large number of year 'round
residents live between the highways.Between WHAT Highways?
Here on the island, there
is a small road that runs parallel to the shoreline, and a larger, busier road that
carries most of our traffic. The small "beach" road is Virginia Dare
Trail, and the larger road is the Croatan Highway, NC Route 168. Both roads run
North/South, and are parallel to each other. A
very large number of homes are located "Between the highways", and the bulk of
our rental units are located here. In addition, a large number of year 'round
residents live between the highways.
These tend to be a bit less elaborate and expensive than the "Ocean
Fronts" or the "Ocean Sides". Nevertheless, these homes can be very
nice, very elaborate, and very inviting.... not to mention being great investments.
Expect these homes to be priced between $260,000.00 and $1,000,000.00..... but also expect
them to pay very good rent, and to be in strong demand from renters, purchasers, and
investors. "BTH" homes offer substantially more in rent to their owners if
they have a swimming pool, hot tub, nearby beach
access, or any/all of a few other amenities. It is likely that the
majority of homes sold on the Outer Banks are located "Between the Highways".
However, there can be a huge difference in price if the house is nearer the beach, or
nearer the heavily traveled Highway 168. If you're interested in a home in this
